About Us

Troop 360 is based in Rochester Hills, Michigan

Weekly Meetings:

We average between 15 to 20 scouts, ranging from new scouts fresh from Webelos, to veteran Eagles getting ready to set out into the world. We even have a few scouts that didn't want to leave when they turned 18, so we made them into leaders.

We are a scout led troop, usually with three or four patrols, plus our senior patrol which includes the senior patrol leader and his leadership team. We have members from all over the greater Rochester area, with members coming from as far away as Lake Orion. Elected scouts spend six months in leadership positions and we have monthly scout leadership meetings where the scouts review our recent activities, and decide our meeting themes, camping and outdoor adventures.

Life Skills

One of the best parts of scouting is that it teaches the scout life skills. This helps them become more responsible, better rounded person, and provides leadership skills. Here are some examples of life skills scouting provides:

If we have enough time we will play a scout led game which is a fun way to wind down after the meeting.

Monthly Weekend Camp Outs

Once a month, the scouts get away from their families to camp out with the troop for the weekend all around Michigan. During this time, they get to work on life skills, scouting skills and do fun activities. Here is a list of activities done during camp outs by our scout troop:

Troop 360 History

A big part of our history can be seen throughout Oakland County. Eagle candidates and other members of the Troop have planted memorial gardens at several area churches, held activities for underprivileged children, cleared roads, helped local parks and assisted animal rescue organizations. We have done much of the landscaping around St. John Fisher Chapel, our original charter organization.  Of course, we have also done a number of projects at Scout camps in the area and at Summer camp.

Troop 360 was established on April 11, 1997

It all started when St. John Fisher Chapel wanted to form a Boy Scout Troop. Our first 11 scouts came from Troop 101. Since the Troop started, we have had 117 Scouts become Eagles. Most of our Scouts achieve the First Class rank in the first year. We have been lucky enough to have and keep some great Leaders. Almost all of the Scoutmasters are still active with the Troop. Currently we have 11 Assistant Scoutmasters. Among our Leaders, we have several members who have earned their Wood Badge Beads, been on Wood Badge staff and are members of the Order of the Arrow (three having earned the Vigil honor).
